The spring equinox on March 20th marked the beginning of a new season. One that reminds us of nature’s quiet wisdom: balance, growth, and fresh beginnings. In this spring newsletter, we invite you to welcome this time with intention and renewal, embracing it as more than just a change in the season.
Just as nature transforms, spring offers the perfect moment to reflect on your relationships and emotional well-being. It’s a time to nurture deeper connections, refresh communication, and embrace the possibility of healing and growth. Whether strengthening a bond or reconnecting with yourself, we invite you to reset and bloom anew in both love and life.

Dawn Gerety is a well-known Girdwood artist. She painted the ceiling of the Sitzmark. In the evening it glows in the dark and if you look closely you can see skiers carving turns on a fresh pow day.

Remaining Connected is Important
In addition to knowing basic things like favorite meals and colors, it is also helpful to ask open-ended questions.
Remember, it’s not necessarily about getting everything right. What matters most is having the conversations and feeling truly known.
Get started by asking some of these open-ended questions:
How do you feel about work right now?
What do you find exciting right now?
What are your biggest worries about the future?
How do you think we could have more fun in our life?
How have you changed in the last year?
If you could live during any other time period in history, when would you choose to live and why?
If you could design the perfect house for us, what would it look like?
If you could wake up tomorrow with three new skills in which you excelled, what would they be and why?

This Month's Recipe - Halibut Ceviche

Fresh, vibrant, and full of flavor, this dish combines citrus-marinated fish with mango, avocado, and a touch of heat for a light, refreshing dish. It’s Jodie’s favorite ceviche recipe of all time. It is amazing and the perfect way to empty out the freezer and get prepared for this season‘s catch.
Aarne's Update
Aarne is progressing well in his training journey. He is in his first level of the K9 Good Citizen Trifecta with Alaska Dog Works. This next step brings him closer to his goal of becoming a Certified Therapy Dog, and we couldn’t be prouder of his progress! Here he is at the Lowe’s on Muldoon, in Anchorage, working with Jodie and Michelle Forto, advancing his skills.

Jodie's Corner
Is 2025 off to a great start for you?
I’ve been focusing my energy on deepening my Brainspotting skills and knowledge because I continue to see just how effective and transformative it can be. What’s my evidence? You are! The progress I witness in my clients reaffirms why this work is so powerful.
Recently, I had the incredible opportunity to travel to Costa Rica for a Brainspotting Intensive with Cherie Lindberg. It was a phenomenal experience—deepening connections with fellow Brainspotters, immersing ourselves in learning, and, of course, soaking in the beauty of Costa Rica. Here are a few snapshots from the trip!

As part of my journey to becoming a Brainspotting Consultant, I’m grateful to be part of an incredible CIT (Consultant-in-Training) study group with Sami and Janice, who practice in Arizona and California. Together, we take a deep dive into Brainspotting concepts, refining our understanding and strengthening the frameworks that guide this powerful modality. It’s an experience that feels much like an intensive postgraduate program—challenging, enriching, and deeply rewarding. Check out Sami’s and Janice’s amazing work!
Until next time, may your connections stay strong, your days be filled with growth and light, and your journey forward be meaningful. And if this newsletter resonated with you, feel free to share it with someone who might enjoy it too!
