Reset Your Nervous System for Deeper Healing
At Crossings Health we have found that true connection and healing begin with nervous system regulation. That’s why we offer the Safe and Sound Protocol (SSP) as a complementary service to all clients. Developed by Dr. Stephen Porges and rooted in Polyvagal Theory, SSP is a gentle, non-invasive intervention designed to calm and reset the nervous system, helping you feel more grounded, connected, and emotionally resilient.
How SSP Supports Your Therapy
Our nervous system plays a central role in how we respond to stress, process emotions, and engage in relationships. If it’s stuck in survival mode—whether due to trauma, chronic stress, or unresolved emotional wounds—it can be difficult to feel safe enough to fully engage in therapy. SSP helps by:
Reducing Anxiety and Emotional Reactivity – Creating a foundation for greater emotional balance.
Enhancing Co-Regulation – Improving your ability to connect with yourself and others.
Deepening Therapeutic Work – Making it easier to access and integrate insights from therapy.
Increasing Resilience – Helping your nervous system return to a state of calm more quickly after stress.

WHAT TO EXPECT
SSP involves listening to specially filtered music designed to retune your nervous system. It works by stimulating the vagus nerve, promoting a shift from fight-or-flight responses to a state of safety and connection. Clients typically listen to the music in short, structured sessions, either during therapy or at home, based on what best supports their healing process.
A Complimentary Part of Your Treatment
We believe that nervous system regulation is essential for meaningful and lasting change. That’s why we offer SSP as a bonus service to all our clients—there’s no extra charge, just added support to help you get the most out of your therapy.
If you’re ready to experience deeper emotional balance and a greater sense of safety within yourself, SSP is here to support your journey.
