Private Weekend Relationship immersive in Girdwood, Alaska

A decisive shift for relationships that matter.

 Two days. Private. Clinically precise.

There are moments in a relationship where continuing as you have been is no longer viable.

Not because of a lack of effort but because the work required now lives at a deeper level.

This immersive experience is designed for that moment.

A Structured, Integrated Clinical Approach

The work draws from:

Black headphones and pen on a notebook, with decorative stones, plants, and a couch in the background

The Gottman Method

Couples Therapy Books

Imago Dialogue

Various stones and a pencil on a wooden surface

Brainspotting

Silver headphones on a wooden table with potted plants and a blue bowl

Advanced nervous system regulation

Presented not as separate techniques, but as a cohesive system applied with precision.

THE STRUCTURE

A TWO-DAY IMMERSIVE EXPERIENCE

Day One — Diagnostic Precision

Comprehensive Assessment & Strategic Design

You will develop a clear understanding of:

  • The patterns organizing your relationship

  • The emotional and physiological responses sustaining them

  • What is changeable—and what must be worked with differently

A personalized treatment framework is established using the 4 Layers of the Relationship Reset Intensive.

Clarity changes everything.

Day Two — Resolution & Integration

Focused Therapeutic Work

The second day is devoted to working where patterns originate.

  • Nervous System Regulation - Stabilizing the conditions required for connection

  • Relational Structure - Applying The Gottman Method

  • Refined Dialogue - Engaging through Imago Dialogue

  • Targeted Processing - Resolving underlying drivers through Brainspotting

This is where change becomes possible—because it becomes embodied.

The SPACE Matters

This is not just therapy, it’s an immersive reset experience.

Located within the Chugach Mountains, alongside Glacier Creek.

The environment supports:

  • Regulation

  • Focus

  • Integration

Many couples choose to incorporate time at the Alyeska Nordic Spa and remain in Girdwood between sessions.

Ongoing sessions allow for:

  • Integration of the work completed

  • Continued resolution as deeper layers emerge

  • Stabilization of new patterns over time

This is arranged directly and tailored to the couple.

The work is not rushed. It is carried forward.

MEET YOUR THERAPIST

Jodie Menish, LCSW

Living in Alaska has been one adventure after another. This Kentucky girl never imagined spending weekends camping in the wild, watching belugas chase the tide, witnessing the aurora light up the New Year’s sky, or scaling rugged peaks. Eagles are a daily sight, and I’ve even had the thrill of touching a King salmon with my bare hands. Winter means carving fresh powder at Alyeska, while the rest of the year takes us all over the state in our Arctic Fox—still holding out for the ultimate off-grid experience. Homer is where my Southern roots meet the Last Frontier. There, I ride horses across the tidal flats and reel in Kings from Kachemak Bay.

One of my newest adventures is raising my Yellow Lab puppy, Aarne (pronounced “Ar-né”), whose name means “ruler of eagles” in Finnish. He’s in training to become a therapy dog at Alaska Dog Works in Willow, and I can already see how he’ll bring joy and healing to others.

Hope you enjoy this glimpse into our adventures. We soak up every moment in this incredible place!

TESTIMONIALS

HEAR FROM OUR CLIENTS

"Jodie Menish helped my husband and I in ways we never expected. We were unable to communicate properly, fight correctly or trust one another anymore. Jodie helped us understand, not only our marriage and each other, but also ourselves as individuals. She gave us the necessary tools to repair and improve our marriage and we will forever be grateful for all of our counseling sessions with Jodie.”

- SKL

“Jodie and her practice have become an invaluable resource in our lives. We built our relationship on a solid foundation of tools and guidance that she provided. Her ability to make clients feel comfortable, her experience in helping couples through challenges and her Gottman training make Jodie one of the most effective couples therapists I've ever worked with. I also did Brainspotting with Jodie and accessed deeper spaces and places I didn’t know were there. This awareness also helped my relationship and is allowing me, slowly, to heal from past traumas. We are so grateful to have found her!”

"My partner and I had been on a downward, increasingly frustrating spiral. I asked for him to find us a therapist to see if we could work through some of our problems. He picked Jodie. She worked with us individually as well as together to get to the underlying issues. Also, she helped us find better ways to deal with and use our thoughts and feelings more productively with each other. Individually, she's additionally helped me work through past complex trauma. Her brain spotting techinque has been amazing and helped me to find peace and relief from some old wounds. I highly recommend her."

- SF

“I initially found Jodie through a Gottman Method search. My husband and I were in a tough place and needed some help. Jodie was so wonderful in helping us get past a rough spot. She listened, but also gives conflict-tangible tools that help us daily. Jodie also provided me with individual therapy which helped ease some deep trauma that I had been holding onto for quite some time. I had therapy elsewhere before, but Jodie really made a difference in a way I hadn't experienced previously. My husband was quite a skeptic of therapy before meeting Jodie, but now speaks fondly of her practice and all it has done for us individually and as a couple.”

"Why the heck didn’t we get our butts to Jodie sooner!? That’s the crux of our testimonial regarding our work with Jodie. Honestly, she’s GREAT! She’s a person that totally “gets” the people in front of her. We left each session feeling calmer, wiser, and more compassionate about the journey called marriage. She gets to the “big stuff” but she also has a way of showing how improvements in the seemingly “little stuff” can make a WORLD of difference. This is not cookie-cutter marriage counseling; Jodie has this way of uncovering what each couple needs to see and know, and then using different approaches to get the work done!"

"If you’re looking for a couples therapist who truly makes a difference, you’ve just found her! My husband and I were fortunate enough to have found Jodie when we needed help with our marriage. Jodie creates such a comfortable space and is so easy to talk to. Jodie has an amazing ability to help both partners feel heard and valued. Her use of the Gottman Method and Brainspotting techniques have been extremely helpful in making progress towards healing our relationship. Thanks to Jodie, we are working through past traumas and talking with each other in a calm way and with a new insight into each other’s perspectives. We can’t recommend Jodie highly enough — working with her has been one of the best decisions we’ve made for our relationship."

“Jodie was my first experience with any kind of counseling. I'm generally a bit skeptical of such things, but Jodie's approach was nicely down-to-earth and practical. She used a variety of techniques including "Brainspotting" which was new to me, but I found to be very beneficial. Jodie is compassionate, kind and patient. She clearly cares a great deal for her clients and even though counseling like this won't simply fix everything, it certainly helped me. I would highly recommend Jodie to anyone seeking a counselor.”
